On the 3rd of May last Liberdúplex received the Prize for the Best Book Printed in 2012.

The Award ceremony was held in “La Pedrera”, in Barcelona, and the winning book was “La Sagrada Família”, a work published by the “Friends of Gaudí Association”, Inédita Blue and MediaMinds.

The “Pioneer” Prize was collected by Víctor Trillo, Managing Director of Liberdúplex, which forms a part of the Editorial Prensa Ibérica Group, and was handed over by Bernat Gómez, President of the Gremi d’Indústries Gràfiques. The ceremony was also attended by Jordi Rosés, who ran the project for Liberdúplex and Mr. Jesús Gadea, representing Inédita Blue.

The work is dedicated to the project for the construction of “La Sagrada Familia”, the Magnum Opus of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí, and consists of a 248-page illustrated book, bound in a hardcover, and including two DVDs, one with a documentary on the cathedral and another dedicated to the human side of the architect “Gaudí: Human Touch”. The set is presented in a luxurious illustrated box.

The book is outstanding due to its photographic quality, the work of Nicolas Randall, photographer and editor of MediaMinds , and also for the excellent printing and binding by Liberdúplex.

The paper used was produced by responsibly managed forests and plantations and its sources have been verified and certificated.

This prize represents both the culmination and an acknowledgement of the work of continuous improvement that has been set in place at Liberdúplex, with its focus on customer-centred processes and excellence of quality. The latest investments made in Colour Management (Pre-inking, Densitometry, ISO 12647Certification) were doubtless key factors in the awarding of this prize.

For over 35 years Liberdúplex has been dedicated to the printing and binding of books for many of the leading publishers in Europe. The company is based in Sant Llorenç d`Hortons (Barcelona) and forms a part of the Editorial Prensa Ibérica Group.
